At the same time, Santa Teresa is growing faster each day, which is why we urgently need to expand the reach of our projects to protect the water of the Southern Nicoya Peninsula.

Every human activity has an impact on the environment. We are happy to join forces with businesses that, on one hand, are committed to reducing their own pollution levels and, on the other, are willing to invest in initiatives that work actively in protecting natural resources.
Started in 2022 in Costa Rica with a national gym chain, a % for the Ocean aims at building a movement of businesses and individuals delivering philanthropic support to water conservation projects by donating a % of their monthly profit.
Donors who give directly to % for the Ocean invest in our capacity to build a larger activism chain and support that engages more people in our mission. We are a small team fueling a network of businesses, individuals, and other community actors that care about keepíng the ocean clean.

By registering to the donation at check out program your hotel or guesthouse will easily contribute to connecting the visitors with the community and its natural resources, equally highlighting your hotel's commitment to nature.
At check out, your guest chooses to add a donation to our organization to their bill. The donation creates a big difference for each project we implement. Giving something back to the environment that tourists came to enjoy is assuming their responsability as members of this living planet to help conserve it.
A 100% of their donations goes directly to fund projects of recycling, beach cleanups, composting, water quality monitoring, waste water management advice, ocean friendly business certification, water education and awaraness raising, law enforcement and local capacity building.

Volunteer Thursdays
Every Thursday, we have volunteer groups at the Recycling Center in Cobano. Young people, adults, tourists, and locals get together to learn about the recycling process, team work, and the importance of cleaning your recyclable materials when sorting them at home or at your business. If you, your friends, or your employees want to embrace this amazing experience, contact us! We always need helping hands!
